Create a Dropdown List

Use data validation to let people pick from a list instead of typing.

You will learn to

• Create a list validation rule
• Choose a value from the dropdown

How it works

Select the cells, choose Data → Data Validation, set Allow to List and type the items separated by commas (or point to a range). A dropdown arrow appears and other entries are rejected.
