How to Sum Values Between Two Dates in Excel

Total invoices between a start and end date with SUMIFS, add a client filter, and build a rolling 30-day total.

You will learn to

  • Sum values with a ">=" start date and "<=" end date
  • Add a third condition to a date-range sum
  • Total a rolling window that ends on an as-of date

How it works

To add up everything between two dates, use SUMIFS with two conditions on the same date column: =SUMIFS(C2:C11,A2:A11,">="&G1,A2:A11,"<="&G2). Keep the start and end dates in cells and join them to the operators with &, so you can change the period without editing the formula. Using >= and <= makes both dates inclusive.

Add more criteria pairs to filter further (one client, one product). For a rolling window such as "the last 30 days", use ">"&asof-30 and "<="&asof.

=SUMIFS(C2:C11,A2:A11,">="&G1,A2:A11,"<="&G2)
