How to Use Custom Weekends with WORKDAY.INTL in Excel
Schedule with non-standard weekends: Friday–Saturday offices, Sunday-only closures and custom 7-digit weekend masks.
You will learn to
- Use a weekend code for a Friday–Saturday weekend
- Use a single-day weekend code
- Build a custom 7-character weekend string
How it works
WORKDAY.INTL(start_date, days, weekend, holidays) works like WORKDAY but lets you choose the weekend. Weekend codes cover common patterns: 1 = Saturday–Sunday, 7 = Friday–Saturday, 11 = Sunday only, 17 = Saturday only.
For any other pattern, pass a 7-character string of 0s and 1s starting on Monday, where 1 means a day off. "0000111" means Monday to Thursday are working days and Friday, Saturday and Sunday are off.
